Pixilated Photo Quilt

I took 2 classes with Tammie Bowser a year or so ago and  made 2 wall hangings.  Loved the process so much that I bought the software.  These were my two originals from Tammie's class. The first, our Lizzy is pixilated squares.  The second is pixilated sections.

Then my friend, Mary took the class and did a picture of her grandson and we collaborated on a picture of our friend's husband who has since passed from ALS.

So then we decided to have a class at church hoping 5 would sign up.

Three students didn't make it to the second class.  We were so happy with the outcome.  We will be doing another class in Jan/Feb.

I pass these alpacas 2 or 3 times a week on my walk and have tons of pictures.  Finally found one that I love-going to this one for my class sample.

365 Challenge

Katherine Kerr designed a beautiful quilt that has 365 different blocks in it.  Participants are supposed to get it done in a year.  This is my 3rd or 4th year and so far I have January and February completely done, march almost 1/2 way and April a couple of blocks from totally done.  I am going to love it when I finish! Someday.

Several years ago I asked family and a few friends if they would like a quilt from me.  I have gotten quite a few done and am down to the last 5,  My sister-in-law, Marta, my best friend, Chris, her daughter, Jessica and our foster son Karece. and my friend, Karen.  I am working on Chris's right now.  All the others are good sized lap quilts but Chris wanted a king.  Because she is my bestie, she gets it.  Need to put on 3 more borders-2 plain and 1 border of 12" pieced stars.  This is a Kaffe Fassett design out of his Cotswold book.

I started Karece's quilt several years ago-just need to finish it.  Jan Krentz pattern

Jessica's pieces are done-just need to assemble.  A Bonnie Hunter design

So, I have this year booked with projects.  Not starting any new ones.  I am excited that of the 5 quilts, 3 are at least 1/2 done.

Finished Summer Sassy

I have been working on this Row by Row quilt for a year.  I had 8 ladies out of my class make a row by row quilt.  4 made a fall version and 4 made this one.  I cut kits for all of them every other month.  A million tiny pieces.  Part of the quilt was pieced and part appliqué.  This will travel in our motorhome with a matching pillow and privacy quilt that hangs behind the front seats.

Hopefully back for good.

Just got back from a 5 day prayer/quilting retreat with 3 special friends at William Heise Park in Julian, CA.  Beautiful weather, time with Jesus and a table topper finish, a 1 block finish,  and a start on my best friend's quilt.  Wonderful time of refreshing.

 Having dinner at Romano's.  Yum!

Finished 1 of 16 Bonnie Hunter Blocks with sashing on both sides.  I have been working on the 8 separate 3.5 block sets for 4 years.  I have made them as leaders and enders as I have made other quilts.  Finally ready to put the quilt together.  The blocks will finish at 15.5 w/o the side sashings.
